Valerie Sparks: Luminist
Past exhibition
Overview
Luminist takes its name from a movement of 19th Century artists who were preoccupied with light and idealized combinations of architecture and nature. In this new media interpretation these elements are taken from inner urban locations of the City of Port Phillip at different times of the day. It reflects the betwixt and between characteristic of the time between night and day, one of the most haunting and beautiful times to be on the foreshore. Luminist was created through the Rupert Bunny Fellowship.
